We were extremely sad to report the passing of a legend in the viola world – Brian Mack who died March 24th 2019. A huge personality who did much to improve the pay and conditions of players in the West End, and a player with most of the great orchestras in the UK. Always in demand by the likes of Frank Sinatra when touring Europe and latterly principal viola of the New English Concert Orchestra. Always stylish, he cut a dashing figure both on and off the platform and was hugely entertaining with his fund of stories from the world of music. He was the longest serving President and great supporter of the Amici Singers and will be greatly missed
